The X89 DRAG ESC is tested and found to be reliable for use in drag racing when used with a minimum 4S BLDC.
Recommendations:
Dragster
Recommended for no glue racing.
Recommended Chassis:
KCR-3SS.BL
Recommended motors:
KCR-1106.3200Kv or a KCR-1106.4500Kv. A 1404 motor has too much torque for the 32-bit ESC and erratic start line results will occur.
Recommended tire sizes:
1-1/16 x .435” or 1-3/16 x .435”. Wider than .435” tires may look cool but will likely cause motor commutation errors that could lead to motor and/or ESC failure.
Recommended gearing:
48 pitch
Pinions - 8, 9, 10, 11
Crowns: 29, 30, 31, 32, 33
Funny Car
Recommended glue racing.
Recommended Chassis/Body:
KCR-RH.BL / Lexan Funny Car
Recommended motors:
A 'shafted' RCInPower 1207.6000Kv. A 1404 motor has too much torque for the 32-bit ESC and erratic start line results will occur.
Recommended tire sizes:
1.01” x .300”. Wider than .300” tires may look cool but will likely cause motor commutation errors that could lead to motor and/or ESC failure.
Recommended gearing:
64 pitch
Pinions: 15, 16, 18
Spurs: 46, 47, 48, 50
The ESC is a complex piece of electronics. If for any reason the motor starts to stutter you must stop and find out the reason. If you continue, the ESC may get very hot and cease to work.
